Wrap up in the shortest sentence possible what your role means.

Developer Advocate is developers friend. It means I act as a glue between the developer community and the product teams. On one hand, I create content that help developers learn and use specific products in their projects and on the other hand, I take their feedback and share it with the product teams.

What is the interesting / challenging part of your work?

Constant learning is the most interesting part! Not only do I get to learn from the conferences I attend, but most of the job is to learn new things, try them out and come up with a way to explain it to different set of audiences.

What attracted you to choose a STEM field?

I was born in a family of Engineers so I was drawn naturally towards STEM. Math, Science and Art were my passions growing up.

Navigating the career path in tech is easy if you are willing to experiment

I found the role I love by experimenting a few roles before realising this is the one that I truly enjoy.

What is your biggest achievement that you are most proud of? How do you track and express your achievements in the workplace and beyond?

I am really proud of exploring multiple technologies and finding a way to marry my passion of art and creativity with my passion for technology. I mostly share my achievements on social media.

Who are your mentors or role models that helped you either directly or indirectly?

I have honestly been really lucky to have managers and colleagues that have played a mentor role at different stages of my career.

How do you think women can be game-changers in time of crisis?

Women have the innate quality to empathise and that plays a huge role in times of crisis. I use this in my job everyday, understanding where the customer/developer is coming from, what they need and why they need it are some questions that I ask myself before I help solve them!

What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as a leader? Are there any technology resources that you would recommend?

I believe in the process of learning and growing through exploration. If I find myself interested in a new technology, I pick a project and get hands-on with it.

Additionally, I read tech blogs, non-fiction books and follow the people I admire the most to stay up-to date.

It’s your day off. What do you do to relax?

On my day off I am either reading or painting/sketching. I do love watching TV too! ☺️

What advice would you give to your 21 year old self?

Make a plan but keep it loose so you have room for exploration. When you keep yourself open to trying new things you will land on something that you end up loving.

What makes you RARE?

I consider myself an emerging storyteller. My ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy to understand stories makes me RARE!
